How are you really doing?

Hari Om from the hot hot hot Rishikesh. It's about 37 degrees celsius here and summer is not my friend... I spend my days mainly inside - underneath the never stopping fan - reading, writing, and watching movies in between sessions. And of course cooking- alas not one of my favorite tasks!- and taking care of the street dogs that now more than ever need food and water. Manly i feel at peace and content, i get to do what i love in a safe environment, i have more time to my self and i finally get to tackle the many books i have collected over the past months. There are days, though that i feel the pressure of what is going on in the world, how we are all shifting- in one way or another, whether we like it or not- how the earth is finally breathing and the animals are reclaiming their habitat. Something had to happen, because what we we were doing as a collective group of humans was not working for the greater of all: that's for sure! There is so much i...

Ajapa Japa - Guided Meditation

Relax and renew with this ancient guided meditation. Ajapa Japa means "spontaneous repetition of a mantra"  No equipment necessary.  This is why meditating - even 10 minutes a day -  is beneficial - decreases anxiety  - increases an overall sense of peace of mind  - increases mental clarity  - increases capacity to focus  - enhances self awareness - releases stress  - increases sense of inner peace  Mantra Repetition  - helps in releasing trapped emotions - brings one's vibration to a higher level - it gives the feeling of an internal "cleansing"  - it helps connecting to one's higher Self - it creates a sense of peace and calm  #meditation #mantra #relax #peace #japa

Self-love and Self- acceptance by Amena Apshori

Self-love is something we hear all the time.  We want more abundance and growth as humans and especially as women we desire more love and closeness.  We wish to have more self-esteem and self-acceptance.   Here are two ways to build our self-love and self-acceptance from within:  1.Physique Centered Self-Acceptance Physique-centered self-acceptance essentially means how we accept ourselves in terms of our physique. It reflects the way we view ourselves and look at our figures, our bodies, our outlook and appearance.  A lot of people tend to not accept themselves, not love themselves based on their physique. This plays a big role in our lives because a lot of people consider their value and worth based on how they look and appear, and what other people think about them in terms of appearance.  What you want to do if you find yourself struggling with accepting yourself physically is that you really want to get in the mindset and sta...

On doing the right thing

I want to share a secret with you.  Sometimes I ask myself, “What does it mean to be right’?  To do what is the “proper” thing to do. Do you? I mean, do you ask yourself the same question? And if/when you do, where does your answer come from? Your heart? Your brain? A little of both? A lot of both? Tell me, I want to know.  The yogis teach us to share the truth, to speak it from a place of love even if it hurts – you or the person hearing it – but is it the right thing to do? Is making the “right” decision supposed to make you feel “good” to make you feel like you are in the correct space, the one that is expected of you? But by whom? Yourself? YourSelf with capital S? Your parents, your children, your siblings, social media, your significant other, society? Who?  Do you know the answer to these questions? Do you find yourself lost at times in the land of repeating the same scenarios over and over in your head, so th...
