5 Stretches to gently wake up the body in the morning

Ha ve you thought of developing a morning routine?  What you do in the morning is a reflection of your entire day, so why not make it a positive and productive experience?  Maybe you already have a spiritual practice as soon as you open your eyes or maybe you get up and rush  to get some coffee.  Either way, implementing stretches to your morning will wake up your body and help you feel energized for the rest of the day.  Today I' d like to share my top five stretches that you can implement every morning to feel rejuvenated and ready  for the day ahead.  Stretch #1: Standing Vertical Stretch    This exercise opens everything up and can actually elongate your spine, giving you better posture. Because of this, it can actually help make you appear taller over time.  Stand tall, feet hip-distance apart. Reach your arms overhead, interlace your fingers, palms up.  Inhale, stretch left, exhale.   Inhale back to center Exhale second side.  Repeat 8-10 times. Stretch #2: Standing Toe

How having a spiritual practice helps with feeling comfortable with the unknown

This month's theme is letting go, mindfulness, and the unknown! Today it’s all about spiritual practice and how having one can help you find comfort in the unknown.  In light of the new year and in spite of the last one, an unknown future seems to be the theme of the world.  But how can having a spiritual practice train and prepare you to be comfortable with the uncomfortable?  When you let go of certain expectations of what can be, you enter a world of peace that significantly changes the way you perceive what happens around you.  Is the world broken or is it the media or society telling you it is?  Regardless, now more than ever it’s crucial to understand the power that lives inside you.  As humans, we have an endless amount of potential to accomplish and achieve all that is. So to answer the question_no_I believe the world is not broken if you are convinced deeply in your heart that it’s not and instead of it going backward, every year it gets better.  This is the basis of being

Acceptance and the art of letting go

Letting go can be tough.  Whether it is a certain opportunity, a person you love, a friend you admire, or a dream you desire, all are hard pills to swallow.  We have all being there and we know the feeling.    So, in order to release all that is no longer serving you, let's talk about acceptance.   Acceptance - The first step in the art of letting go is accepting that what no longer serves your highest good has no place in your life.  This step can be the hardest, because life makes us attached to people and things, that's just part of human nature.   Take some time to yourself, feel the emotions come up without judging them, give yourself time to heal, search deeply within your sou,l and let your intuition guide you through the path.  A few things you can do during this time is developing a meditation routine or practicing ishwara pranidhana_surrender to they divine_ (you can read more abut this in my blog about the yama and niyama) Letting go - Release built up emotions
